Interesting… While this documentary was like 10 years ago… nothing much has changed. The judicial system is being revamped at a snail pace while the other agencies, are still well… as they were 10 years ago…

It’s sad… life goes on and not everyone cares… We should let bygones be bygones, the past is the past. It is the present that we really need to be concern about because it is this present moment that something must be done in order for a better future.

Doom and Gloom ahead…

Posted on July 07th, 2008 in Politics) by eQuilec | Comments Off

Here is an article I received

Fear, panic, doom and gloom is reaching an extreme in Malaysia as well as the world . EWM, the Malaysia exchange traded fund listed on the NYSE which represents a basket of the high quality blue chip Malaysia shares recorded the highest short interest since trading stated in 1996. That means short sellers are holding a massive short position betting that the Malaysia stock market will collapse. Discount between NAV and price is over 3.3 %, a historical extreme.

On Friday local investors paniced sold based on political uncertainty and a computer glitch which shut the KLSE system down.

State of the US economy which supports the hyperinflation scenario and more US dollar weakness.
Food banks across America are overwhelmed and breadlines/ soup kitchens are forming in all major US cities. ( last time this happened was in the 1930 great depression).

In San Diego, people are giving up their pets because they can not afford to feed them. Parking lots have been converted to hostels in Santa Barbara, so that those who have lost their homes can live in their cars.

Tent cities are growing accross America for a massive increase in homeless.

Home foreclosures are up 48 % year on year. The credit crises is destroying the capital base of most institutions.

The Dow Jones at 14,000 in October has broken 12,000 and on its way to 11,200.

Violent weather in the Midwest has devastated the corn and soybean growing areas.

Global inflation is out of control at the same time interest rates are starting to rise.

The US government is fractured and paralyzed, unable to deal with the multitude of crises scenarios before them.

Then throw in the problems with Iran and the future level of the US Dollar.

Despite what Bernenke says do not expect the US authorities to raise interest rates to support the dollar

Little known fact about crude oil
Golman Sachs is the largest crude oil trader in the world. They have forecasted USD 200 crude. Henry Paulsen, Secretary of the Treasure in the US used to head Goldman Sachs- he has many friends and connections there.

Do you think he will pull the plug on the oil market and hurt his insider friends as well as the oil industry who are the biggest supporters of George Bush? Only when the US voters throws out the Bush administration in the November election can you hope for any relief in oil prices. It is not in Paulsen and Bush’s financial interests for lower prices any time soon.

I think we really need to tighten our belt a bit more. I realize that people are still going about their business as usual. I still see a lot of cars on the road, and I am not talking about during peak hour. Even after peak hour, you can still see heavy traffic.

Restaurant are still doing fine even though you do see a slight decline. The effect of oil price increase have already been accepted by the people and they seem that they can’t do anything about it but get on with life. This is very prevalent, when the rally in Stadium Kelana Jaya did not meet the expected or targeted 100,000 people.

Gomen says the rally fails, but the organizers says that it was a success. 30,000 compared to a population of around 5milion people is considered relatively small. Depending on how you want see it whether the glass is half empty or half full.

Whatever it is, the government and the people need to take concrete action to deflect this impending economic gloom.

After much thought…

Yesterday, when I took a pot shot on a blog Dr M wrote on Sanusi Junid, I got a few shots back.

Knowing how this posts will be linked back to his blog, I will be ready for whatever comes after this posts.

The shot that I got was that I had a shallow thinking, I was ignorant, ill-manners, and many more shots which you can read it on the comments. When I stated how I have in my small self contributed to the nation, it was taken in comparison with the great man of Malaysia himself Dr M and for that I was also shot to kingdom come.

Yes, I took a pot shot at Dr M and the words I used was I would say very crude and rude. Thus, pot shots were taken back on me. Fair enough…

After much thought, I will in my personal capacity try to understand and maybe justify my actions if not the words I used.

Dr M is no doubt the one and only person who have shaped what Malaysia is today. I again do not doubt that and am grateful. Like what OmongWaras commented, ‘I wouldn’t even know of your pathetic existence if not for TDM’

Yes, if it wasn’t for Dr M we would not have internet, we would have cars, we would have big investors into Malaysia, we would not have jobs, we would not have a lot of things that we now enjoy. If it wasn’t for Dr M. I wouldn’t be blogging about it. Being a big contributor to our nation development he is also a big contributor to our nations woes.

Should I apologies for my previous post Muahaha… now he has tasted it..?

Maybe the choice of my words not proper for a great man such as Dr M. And to say that he has tasted his own piss would be a crime by public opinion. But are my thoughts and feeling correct to express that in such a manner?

If we are now citing for our current Prime Minister to step down and take responsibility for what happened to our nation, about Pak Lah not taking firm actions to guide our nation, and a lot of other things… especially his unkept promise to eradicate corruption. Is Pak Lah the only person that we are gunning for? Not that I am a supporter of Pak Lah, I really do want him to step down.

The point was we are saying that Pak Lah should be responsible for his actions or even his inaction because he is the current PM. So shouldn’t Dr M be responsible for his actions when he was PM?

His actions to ruling with an iron fist, no doubt have help him shape Malaysia to his vision. But his action or inaction to put things in check like cronism, corruption and injustice was also what he was or is famous for.

And when you put a man like Pak Lah who is not ruling with an iron fist, all that Dr M was famous for in terms of cronism, corruption and injustice has become so apparent. As people become more and more courageous, revelations like what recently Judge Ian Chin has disclose just discredit Dr M even more for the wrongs that he is famous for.

What happened to Sanusi Junid, is just one example of what happens when a person who he is align with is not in power. Dr M has created that culture. May it be in UMNO, MCA or MIC. If you don’t bow down to the one who is in power you face the consequences.

So yes, to put it politely he has tasted his own medicine when his good friend was asked to step down without any reason given because Sanusi Junid has been seen as aligning with Dr M.

My bad if the choice of words did not sound grateful for the things that Dr M has done and for that I would apologies. But I do not apologies for my thoughts on how Dr M the has induce a disease sorry… wrong words again… induce such negative culture within our nation.

I do not think that I am ignorant about the fact that corruption are still so rampant. Crimes are still so high. Justice that takes ages to seek. I so do not think that I am ill-mannered to be angry at what is happening now which Dr M has partly contributed to it. He could have stopped it. He could have done even more things good for the nation. So should not I be angry that he did not? He is a capable leader unfortunately time is not on his side.

Is Dr M in his blog trying to set things right?

By trying to seek Pak Lah to step down and put his personal choose Najib on the driving seat will he eradicate corruption, reduce crime and put the judicial system back in order? Will he? Would he?

If he is, he obviously have my support, because it will be good for the people. It’s like how I support Raja Petra who fights for what is good for the people.

Or is Dr M trying to stop Pak Lah from dismantling the legacy that he Dr M has created thus far?

I would like to see Dr M help us to stop the bleeding of our nation, corruption, high crime rates, and flawed judicial system are now bleeding our country of it’s resources and efficiency.

Is he trying to gain sympathy, by letting people know about what happened to his buddy Sanusi Junid? If he is, then the pot shot I took maybe justified, because I do not sympathize for him or his friend. Yes, call me a torturer if you will for taking a pot shot at the misfortune of Sanusi Junid.

But the question here is who in Malaysia is suffering? The hawker owner? The dispatch guy? The Ramli burger guy? The tuck shop around the corner? The small time vendors? The working class? The managers? You? Me? Dr M? Sanusi Junid?

Anyway, I will leave this as that and would appreciate readers if any to correct my thoughts.

On the roll here….

Well… seems like a good day to blog…

I was reading this article which I had bookmarked to read it another day… Which seems like it is today is the day I read it….

Interesting… The Mahathirs: Time To Go

I concur with one of HantuLaut’s comment about Dr M being a great guy and leader. Don’t get me wrong… he has created a lot of opportunities for the Malaysian. For that I am grateful for that.

Mahathir is not a completely bad man, he has also done something good for the nation during his time as premier.

He should accept he made a mistake in choosing his successor and bite the bullet and let it be.Let the people of this country decide whether they want Abdullah or not.

His incessant attacks on the PM create political instibility and a climate of uncertainty which is not good for the nation.

He has become too personal in his attacks on Abdullah, not a wise thing to do, especially for an ex-premier and a veteran politician.

I think somehow or rather, he should not only accepts his mistakes but also help rectify it. I guess that is what he is doing now. He is already 83 years old and I hope he will continue to fight and and rectify his pass mistakes.

There are not many great capable leaders here in Malaysia that would help lead us and brave through both good times and bad times. Anwar is the next best thing… I will leave it for another day to express my thought about Anwar.

Anyway, I think that Dr M needs to rock the boat a bit in order to ensure that we will have a better future. If the law of cause and effect will be in play here. Then I do hope his cause to create political instability will ensure the effect of a better future for us as a nation.

While we criticize about his past, I think it is his present act that counts for now.

If not him and a few other brave soul to help lead and fight for our future, then who else? You? Me?

Muahaha… now he has tasted it..

It is funny how this phrase ‘What goes around comes around’ actually holds true.

Our so called beloved former prime minister has feel his own piss, trickling on him or rather those around him…

In his blog, about his good buddy Sanusi Junid was kicked out as President of International Islam University. He also goes on to describe how coincidences happens when his dear friend Sanusi Junid followed his footstep and resign from UMNO.

I am a firm believer of cause and effect. This is the effect that you see now is due to the cause that was already made in the past.

Tsk, tsk, tsk… if only Dr M is aware. Or maybe he is in denial. As much as I think the he did well for Malaysia, without a doubt I am grateful for him. But the policies and culture that he had set in motion in the past are just so screwed up that in the hands of a ‘Sleepy’ leader like our current PM, all this becomes so apparent until Dr M gets a taste of his own piss…

It is not like this sort of thing does not happened during Dr M’s tenure. The stories during his time were considered small and no ones really reports it much because of the attitude ‘What to do?’ or ‘I don’t think anyone can help’ which makes it hard for them to openly said what unjust was done to them.

So now, since he has nothing to loose, he publicly declares this on his blog….

This is Dr M own doing. He has already induces these sort of culture long before our ‘Sleepy’ PM took over. Does he know that?! What you reap is what you sow. He had sowed this culture of ‘loyalty to the party or get lost’. No loyalty to the party, get lost from your position….

So how does your own piss taste like Dr M?

So humble…

This is what you call a good leader. So humble… This is Barisan Nasional leader should follow. Not like some kind of an arrogant prick!!

This is what Chief Minister of Penang Lim Guan Eng did (as reported on the Star 10 June 2008) ‘Don’t sabotage investment in Penang, Koh told’

In Bukit Mertajam, Lim credited Penangites with the RM1.2 bil investment by Japanese manufacturer Ibiden Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd at the Penang Science Park in Bukit Minyak.

“There are various stages in a deal and everybody has a share in it.

“Japanese companies are tough negotiators, and we have tried our very best.

“We are happy with Ibiden’s decision, which we hope will inspire other Japanese companies to follow suit,” he told newsmen after Ibiden’s groundbreaking ceremony at the park yesterday.

This is how humble he is. He gives credits to the people. Not the previous administrative government but the people! It is true, the government sets the infrastructure and medium but it is always the people who works on it.

And what Koh Tsu Koon says?! He seems to think that the current government is trying to take credit for the groundwork that he and his administration has done…

Fair enough, he might have initiated all this talk, so what?! It’s for the people right? So if the intention is for the people then why bitch about whether the current government are trying to take credit for all investments that they have secured?

Arrogant plick!!

Why learn Politics?

Posted on May 28th, 2008 in Politics) by eQuilec | 0 Comments »

I have never really like politics during my school days and especially when I started working. Politics was never the one thing in my mind. It was more about fun, entertainment and try to make it out into the working world.

I would always flip right to the comic or entertainment section of a newspaper while just browsing though the headlines. Politics sucks, to much hypocrisy and the rest are just plain shit. Life was good so why bother with all this shit.

It was until I got married and had a kid that I started to know and understand politics a bit deeper. The reason why was simple. My Family.

Politics determines and shapes the future of the country. Great leaders translates to great future and lousy leaders translate to lousy future.

So if I want a good future with better opportunity for my family and especially my daughter, I must learn more about politics. Learn about my rights, learn about what is wrong with my country and learn how to make it right.

Politics does sometimes get me worked up especially when I feel that I am so powerless against what is wrong and only feel powerful every 5 years when I cast my votes. But learning about politics is not just about that is it?

Sigh….. too bad there is no crash course in politics…. is there?
